In response to patient feedback, Enloe’s Nutrition and Food Services Department updated the patient menu on July 6. The menu offers new cold plates, organic salads, seasonal fruits and vegetables, more Mexican entrees and a vegetarian option at each meal. Also, some old favorites, such as spaghetti, are back, and local food vendors, such as Lundberg, are used whenever possible.

Enloe Medical Center is encouraging health eating and promoting local produce through its Tuesday farmers market, which launched June 1, 2009. The market will be held in the Enloe Conference Center’s north parking lot on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. from June through September. The Conference Center is located at 1528 Esplanade, at 5th Avenue, and the farmers market will be in the north parking lot. Please stroll over and pick up some healthy local produce.

 The Enloe Health Learning Center, which opened in May 2009, provides patients, family members and community members access to a broad array of health, wellness and medical information. A team of dedicated caregivers and community members from Enloe, the Butte County Library and Chico State Library worked to develop a mission and core selection of resource for the learning center.
